Location : Lal Darwaza, Ahmedabad

Area       : 1,000 sqft

A branch of the Food Inn Fine Dine Restaurant, this interior project follows in basic concept and branding of the Food Inn group. While the Fine Dine restaurant is located in the newer part of the city, this restaurant is in the older part of the city amongst the right heritage of Ahmedabad.

The interiors are contemporary with the furniture and the surface finishes complementing each other. Height was a constraint and thus the ceiling is designed at the beam bottom height. The fileted square elements incorporate the lighting elements and are set against a background of the black-painted ceiling.

On one side, the walls are clad with mirrors that are etched with the images of heritage monuments of India, from all over India. These etchings are developed in a pattern of minute letterings of the Arabic font. On the other side, the image based printing on mirror displays the heritage monuments of Ahmedabad like the Sidi Saiyyed Jali, Teen Darwala and the others. The diners thus are surrounded by the heritage of the country and the city, much like the context of the restaurant.
