The Grand Elegance hotel included two restaurants and a banquet, along with 35 rooms, divided between a total of 7 floors. When seen from the road, the banquet and restaurant ceiling is the only element of the space that can be seen and hence, this element was highlighted through the design.
The banquet hall has an illuminated ceiling, where each of the various acrylic elements form a rhythmic pattern. The flooring, ceiling and the walls towards the entrance are finished in a lighter shade, with the space culminating in a darker, wood clad wall and ceiling. This provides a bright space with glossy finishes following the requirements of the banquet hall.
The restaurant is a darker shade, with softer yellow and warm white lighting and purple upholstery. The lighting design for the inner restaurant is derived from the waxing and waning crescents of the moon. In the outer restaurant, the lighting element has copper pipes fitted with lights as accents along with cove lighting as the general lighting. The lighter shades of beige and wooden finishes are contrasted by the purple upholstery of the furniture.
The contemporary rooms are also designed with lighter wall and floor finishes, and contrasting darker finishes of curtains and bed runners as accents.
